  • A year ago we went to the Atholl Hotel to celebrate our grand-daughter's 1st Birthday and were very satisfied with the service and the food so to celebrate her second birthday I made a booking for 6 adults plus two year old who required a high chair. When booking a week before I requested lunch at 1.30 but was told they were very busy and asked if we could make 1.15. I agreed to this as it would not cause any problems. We duly arrived on time and orders for drinks were taken following orders for main meal. . We each had a starter, main course and desert. i ordered the roast beef with roast and boiled potatoes but told the waiter no gravy which he wrote down. When the orders came I said mine was the one with no gravy but all 3 plates of roast beef had gravy. Mine was not only smothered in gravy but also had extra gravy in a bowl. I advised the waiter that I had ordered mine without gravy, he apologised and said it would be two minutes. I told the other family members to start and not wait for me. After more than 5 minutes mine arrived (without the boiled potatoes) and the meat poorly cooked either rare or medium rare. Everone else had their meat propertly cooked. I did not notice until the waiter had left and I cut into the meat that it was half cooked. I know some people like their meat undercooked but we were not given the choice. As I had started eating I ate yorkshire pudding potatoes and vegetables and only a small amount of meat which I could not eat.. When the plates were taken away I told the waitress that I could not eat the beef as it was undercooked, no apology was given. When I went to pay, by credit card, the receptionist hurriedly bypassed the section to add a tip and did not ask if we had enjoyed the meal, clearly she had been preadvised. The rest of the party were satisfied with their meal but waiters should pay attention to special requests.

  • We decided to book for an early dinner as two of our company were going to the theatre afterwards. We called at reception in the morning to book a table for 5:30. The dining room was due to be busy that evening but because we were eating early, they found us a table on the basis that we would be finished by 7:00. That was no problem. We arrived about 15 minutes early but were told there was no booking. The staff found us a table however and we proceeded to order. There is a good choice of food and the staff were excellent in accommodating those who are a bit more fussy about food. Service was quite quick. The food was delicious. Only two of the company managed a dessert. Although the hotel was busy we found a table in the lounge where we could enjoy an after-dinner drink and a chat. A very pleasant evening which was enjoyed by all. I have eaten here on many occasions and have never been disappointed yet. Footnote: The lack of a booking was obviously an error by the staff because I received a telephone call a few days later to ask if I had made a booking for 28 May which was some 15 days after we dined there.

  • Nice and traditional in avert sense, the Restaurant at the Atholl did not disappoint. We all very much enjoyed our meals. The freshness of the fish is certainly worth a mention. Service was good and the costs reasonable. Generally it may feel a little 'old fashioned', but this is part of its charm.

  • My first time in Scotland, the hotel and the restaurant. The food is excellent and in good portions. And the feeling I got from the people around is that they are regulars since they had no need in looking at the menu. A good variety of food, quick service by the smiling staff. I really enjoyed it and I propose it to all.

  • 很简单,我在酒店住过的最好的食物长时间！ 我们都吃了开胃菜,主菜和甜点。 我们不喜欢泰式甜点Pancake自然中的一个。 令人惊叹的五花肉,主菜有入口即化Pork很脆皮！ 我们一定会再回来！ 工作人员非常乐于助人,总是在我们需要的时候,给了我们一个可爱的生日SING Song和款待。
