  • Have always heard good things about this restaurant, so I finally decided to go.

  • If you like to spend your evening with your loved one, and want a romantic meal and no interruptions (except from the host that serves the food) then Lebrina is the place for you. We were celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary and had heard many good reviews, as we are a couple that enjoy the fine dinning experience. We were shown to go through to the blue/green room and realised we would be on our own. 20 mins later we heard another couple being seated in the opposite room (which i was happy about as they were pretty loud!) The music had the classic divas on from Liza to Ella and then I had to Shazam the last artist as it put us into a toe tapping, shoulder popping mood (Artist was Laura Fygi) We chose the sparkling Bay of Fires Tas Curvee to have as our celebratory drink for the evening and it was the best choice. Ok the food... entree was amazing. I had the pigeon breast and my partner had the gnocchi with veal & sage meatballs. The plates are probably on the larger size than expected and not flat, so you have to get those elbows high to dig in. Mains i had the venison cooked to perfection, my partner had the King fish fillet from Maria Island. The desserts... We chose the warm Tapioca pudding and the chocolate budino. The pudding unfortunately was disappointing, it was too gelatinous and tasteless. However, for the chocolate deliciousness was the right sweetness, consistency and completed the night. The host was very understanding with our feedback on the tapioca pudding and told us he would not charge us for it. Overall we left knowing that we will have many good memories, and many great things to say about Lebrina.

  • Set in a beautiful heritage listed house with dining rooms, the service was exceptional as was the food. The Venison was cooked to perfection - the best I have eaten. A true fine dining experience and would highly recommend.

  • We have been dining at Lebrina for many years now and it never disappoints. You know you are in for a unique experience from the moment you grasp the brass door knock and gently let is hit the beautiful timber door of the 1844 brick house. Welcomed by Steve you are sat in one of the intimate dining rooms. The music soothes and adds to the anticipation of what is to come. The menu is diverse and prepared with care and respect to the wonderful ingredients found in Tasmania. I enjoyed the eggplant fritters with cured sardines, oregano tomato salsa and parmesan. He enjoyed the plump perfectly cooked scallops with confit pork belly, pickled daikon, radish and chinese greens. The asian broth was light and beautifully balanced. Main course for me was beautiful tender duck breast and for him the eye fillet. Dessert was a simple affair of cheeses tonight. The wine list is extensive and Steve can help you with your decision so that it compliments your meal choice. The perfect venue for our wedding anniversary.

  • The long awaited visit to Lebrina Restaurant finally came about and on a Saturday evening-thanks to some forward thinking. There were high expectations as one crossed the threshold to this very elegant 19th Century house. We were seated in a small cosy room, our table had very good napery, cutlery and stemware. The menu is a splendid testimony to local produce, apart from the Moreton Bay Bugs which didn't belong, but because they were so good they did ! I can never go past sardines and I was not disappointed, served with delicious eggplant fritters and a rich tomato salsa. My slow-cooked lamb with a baked kohlrabi pudding teased all the senses and was simply outstanding. Hobart is very fortunate to have Lebrina, must get back there sometime. To the proprietors of Lebrina, a big thank you and please do not change a thing
