The restaurant atmosphere was peaceful, cosy and romantic. The service made us feel warm and welcome, and we learned a few interesting facts about wine and food. The food was incredible, and we enjoyed the different types of wine that complemented each dish. Overall there is nothing I would change about the restaurant. This is definitely me and my husband's new favourite!

Food was good, no great. Service was actually disappointing. Value for money not on par...wine pairing not arriving with food. Disrupted waiters serving us. I think they broke half the kitchen crockery while we sat for dinner?

We expected so much but was disappointed. Sure you have beautiful views in the day but as we had dinner and it is winter we walked into a restaurant with very dated decor and no atmosphere, listening to the kitchen noise in background. Granted personnel was very friendly and helpful. We chose the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Good wines, I didn't mind the small amounts poured but think this might be a problem for someone else. The food was well presented but overall tasteless. My monk fish was tough (?) Risotto just sad and my husbands fillet over cooked. We have done tasting menus at Zest Bistro and Privia Lounge which was cheaper and absolutely divine. At Zest the chef will have a chat with you and at both these restaurants each dish is fully explained by a knowledgeable person knowing why the wine is paired with the specific dish and where the wine origin from. I do not know if the normal menu might be better but I would really just not recommend the tasting menu. I did not take it up with the restaurant as we had a date night and we actually weren't in the mood to spoil our evening. Saying that I am sure they would've been apologetic and maybe their normal menu is better. Funny, you think with each course - "now it's going to get better" and by the time dessert arrives it is too late.

This was our first visit to De Kloof.After eating out at most of our favourite restaurants( there are only a few) we googled best seafood restaurants and decided on De Kloof.(We didn't even know about this restaurant) We did not make a booking and on our arrival we were met very friendly and shown to our table with a beautiful view. The menue was very impressive very detailed.We orderd our staters both seafood and wow !!!! It looked amazing very well plated(like in Franschhoek) The seafood was well prepared and perfectly cooked. By this time we were really impressed. They 've got a very good winelist with a great variety. We had our main course that was amazing the fillet cooked to perfection and the plating beautiful. After this we we're really impressed. Desert is absolute a must. The staff also amazing and very friendly and helpful. So glad we discoverd this amazing place in Pretoria.Keep it up guys.
