I've dined at the zest grill house several time while staying next door at the novotel. Couldn't find anything to complain about they have an uncomplicated menu and it's just good basic food and the service it very fast, portion sizes and cost i found very reasonable will definitely go back.

I don't like too much the fact you have to order also drinks before you sit down, but is quite common in australia. The food is really good, steaks and fish well cooked and fries or mash potatoes were good. Prices at the level of service and food.

Couple of weeks back i visited the Zest restaurant at Rootyhill RSL. The gas was not working early that evening and when things went back on.. The manager on duty - Rohan went above and beyond to make sure everyone was being attended to. He provided exceptional service to our family, we were delighted. Im a vegan and when i mentioned this to Rohan , he went and spoke with chefs and helped modify a vegetarian dish to suit my needs. This was going above and beyong as it was an extremely busy evening. Thankyou Rohan, Well done! We will surely visit again.

Agree partly with other comments regarding prices but Zest is but one option within the RSL. Cafe seemed to offer cheaper fare. Dined on Saturday at 6pm and probably only 5-10% of tables were occupied. We ordered 2 portions of ribs ($34 each) , fish & chips ($24) and porterhouse ($28). Ribs and porterhouse were good but fish was rather ordinary for the price. Time from order to eating was quick. Service is just delivery. Don't expect table waiting service.
