  • The Corner Store has delicious food, and ice cream, soda, candy, and etc. The only thing is that it's very hot in there. It's humid so I suggest you get a cold drink there.

  • Yes, it's true. Johnny Depp used to frequent this quaint coffee shop/corner market in San Pedro during breaks from filming of The Black Pearl. The personable proprietress of The Corner Store, Peggy, managed to snag an autographed copy of Johnny's picture from him during one of his visits to her charming seaside establishment. In addition to this picture of one of God's masterpieces of bone structure, the Corner Store has much to offer visually, including local crafts and art for sale as well as plenty of nostalgic signage and other memorabilia gracing the walls. In addition to all of the fascinating visual stimuli, The Corner Store offers yummy coffee drinks, delicious pastries, light breakfast fare and a fairly broad lunch menu. The lunch menu includes homemade soups, hearty sandwiches and many creative spins on hot dogs from the "Kennel Club" menu. The décor is funky nautical, and a variety of seating options are available inside, including a large table (suitable for a small book club, perhaps), a comfy sofa and assorted smaller chairs and tables. Outside the store, there are small tables and umbrellas set up on the patio and sidewalk areas. Local customers frequently bring along their furry friends to visit whilst their owners enjoy some face time over lattes and muffins. If you prefer a minimalist-type atmosphere, The Corner Store is probably not the place for you. Otherwise, you will probably be delighted with this unique local establishment.

  • This is in my backyard. A block from the Pacific. Nice crowd of locals. Friendly staff. Reasonable coffee. Good sandwiches. An array of weird stuffed animals for sale. Yeah, I don't get it either. Lots of locals artists work. You can sit inside on couches or kitchen tables or outside on the front patio. Great place to meet friends for coffee in the AM. If you ever happen to be in "the Center of the Universe" aka San Pedro, Ca. Drop by. Otherwise, hit the Pacific Diner for a breakfast that will make you take a nap. See you around the neighborhood.
