  • Was a bit thrown as phoned to book Tamarind Springs but didn't realise there were two restaurants there so accidentally booked this one. I was given the option to change if I wanted but on viewing the menu and looking at the restaurant (one sits above the other and both beautiful) we decided yo stick with Mandi Mandi. Service was unobtrusive but good. Menu great and well explained by waitress who also suggested substitutes for the platter we half fancied! All worked out well. Cocktails before fantastic, wine good and good good. Yes the restaurant is out the way a bit but worth it for the tranquility. I did see families there with young children but its predominantly a romantic restaurant. Be aware you have a small walk down jungle path to restaurant. It was pouring with rain when we arrived so a bit more sensible shoes might have helped me!!

  • Gorgeous restaurant, just make sure you allow a good half an hour to get there in a cab, if there is a little traffic (which on friday and saturday nights, there often is). Worth the journey and feels like such an escape from the city.

  • My fiance and I went to Mandi-Mandi restaurant at Tamarind Springs to celebrate our engagement. If you're looking for a romantic and one-of-a-kind ambiance for a night out with your loved one, this is the place. It's location is quiet, secluded, and peaceful, in the middle of the jungle, and the decor is beautifully done. You will feel like you're in a resort somewhere instead of in KL. The service is also excellent. From the time twe entered to the time we left, we were treated like VIPs. Datshana in particular, was extremely good. He was polite, friendly, and recommended an excellent wine when the one we wanted was not available. It is a beautiful place to relax and spend some quality time with a loved one while enjoying some good food and drinks. There's a dedicated carpark for patrons of the restaurant, although it's a bit dark and dodgy. The food was very good, but not excellent. We were not blown away and have had better Thai food but it was still good, and the ambiance made up for it. A little on the pricey side but that's expected from a restaurant of this standard. All in all, a great place for a special occasion. If you can afford it, the venue is perfect for a wedding or private party too.

  • One of the best Thai restaurants we have found in KL, where it is very hard to find authentic Thai food. This location also houses the Tamarind Springs restaurant upstairs (Indo-Chinese cuisine). Both restaurants and the bar are open air, so it can be a hot for those who don't enjoy alfresco dining in the tropics. After walking down a long pathway with stairs to arrive at the building, we first had a drink upstairs at the lovely bar which has an amazing menu of many interesting cocktails and choices. Nestled on the edge of the jungle overlooking the golf course, the restaurant has very atmospheric lighting and artistic buddhas throughout. You feel like you are in a resort or hotel, not on the edge of KL! Otherwise very minimalist decor with wooden tables and chairs, but nice table linens and just lovely after dark. Portions were quite large---the soup and curries we had could both be shared. Service was very good, but my only complaint would be the very long wait between appetizers and main course. Oh, and the green mango salad needed some spice, good flavor but no heat whatsoever! There was also Malay food on offer, but we ate only Thai. Did not have room for dessert. There is a dirt parking lot available for the restaurants, but you can also park on the street. A guard with flash light and umbrella walked us to our car after dinner.
