  • You have to take this place for what it is. You just can't expect 5 star service at places like this. Once you accept that you can really appreciate the delicious food and efficient service. I love the spring rolls (fried and fresh) and lemongrass chicken. Won tons are a little greasy for me There's also a claw machine with soft toys at the restaurant lol

  • Amazing tasting Vietnamese food and it arrives super fast and hot. Been going here for over 8 years and it's so easy to cater to large walk in groups like myself and friends usually do when we turn up. Service is average to not very good, but for how very tastey the food is and arrives in such a timely manner, it's definitely worth the frequent visits. Love the different flavours of iced nectar drinks and the spring rolls are my family's favourites! So cheap for an easy, lazy meal.

  • I tried this place today. I didn't know the area so took a chance on this restaurant. I wouldn't go back the meal left me feeling I wasted my time and money. It was odd tasting and felt greasy. No atmosphere. Look around and check other reviews before taking a chance on dining in this area.

  • We went to Ha Long Vietnamese in New Lynn after checking some online reviews (not on Trip Advisor) which said that their food was good. I did come across some comments about their bad service but chose to ignore them. I wish I didn't. As a major fan of Vietnamese food, I was keen to sample some. The food here is not authentic Vietnamese but more Chinese style. Portions are huge and prices cheap. There is a good selection of food items on the menu which seemed promising. We ordered two types of entrees; two plates of shrimp spring rolls and a plate of lemongrass chicken. The spring rolls were huge but disappointing filled mostly with noodles and bits of shrimp and nothing else. The lemongrass chicken never arrived and when reminded the "hard to catch" waiter, he brought us a plate of fried chicken wings after he served our mains. When we pointed out that we didn't order it, he checked his order, muttered under his breath and took the chicken wings away. Our mains which arrived at 4 different times, were average. Admittedly the portions were huge and the prices very reasonable. Entrees were about $ 4.50- 5 and mains around $9-12 and desserts $4-5. Food was average but I don't think most were authentic Vietnamese. The worst about this place is its service. There were 4-5 wait staff but all of them were not interested, were not polite and displayed possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered in a restaurant in New Zealand. While we waited for our order, we could see at least 3 of the waiting staff sitting at a table in one corner of the restaurant and a consuming food. We had to remind them to fill our tea pots, bring us cutlery, tell them that our entre order was wrong, we wanted the dessert menu etc. After they gave us the dessert menu, none came our way so we decided that we will skip dessert and get out and never go back. The woman at the till who presumably was the owner seemed surprised that we complained and she said maybe they were busy but at th
