The food is actually very tasty and the portions are good, unfortunately that is the best I can say about this cafe. They don't seem to have researched the area and are catering for Oxford St traffic. There is a whole community of customers living around them, that is who will ultimately make or break this place. The cafe is closed in the afternoons and they are not open on Sundays so miss the brunch crowd, not servicing the local community so not going to build customer loyalty. The male staff seemed to be using the place as a pick up joint, hanging around outside the entrance checking out women is not a great look and can be intimidating for female customers wanting to enter, also being called luv and excessive chatting up quickly moves past friendly into uncomfortable. The interior design is soulless and not very inviting, also the music is not really appropriate for an enjoyable meal. The waitress was very pleasant but the food took ages to come and we had to ask for cutlery after the food was delivered and we still hadn't received our drinks, there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant at the time. Disappointing.

The good old falconer is gone and this what seems like a family owned restaurant took its place. The coffee is too bitter for my liking and the milk is formed roughly which I felt isn't meeting the neighborhood standard. However the food serving is generous for the price you pay. The wait staff struggled taking order as she didn't understand much English. This is nothing new in Sydney but it's slightly annoying if you need to repeat your orders a couple of times and you still don't get what you've asked for. If you're hungry, head to the Ox but if you are after something with quality then there are plenty of others to choose from.

This licenced Lebanese inspired restaurant has only been around for 3 months, not far from Hyde Park. Family owned, all food prepared on the premises and really tastes fresh. Very friendly staff who are happy to advise and assist regarding their menu. The Ox is open for lunch & evening meals.
