  • We had a table reserved up stairs at Gigis for a friends 21st and we ordered a selection of pizza and pasta. The food was amazing!!!!

  • After a long day of site seeing we opted for takeaway. Ordering was quick and easy. We watched the pizza being made and it smelled delicious. However, the crust had zero flavor, the toppings were sparse, and it was burnt! We noticed the top was slightly burnt (even the guy making it tore off some of the burnt spots before boxing it), but it wasn't until we go home we realized the bottom was burned also. The garlic bread pizza...no garlic flavor. So disappointing!

  • Gigis has had a presence on Balmain for maybe 30 years, maybe more. Some years back it moved to the cafe strip opposite Gladstone Park from the other side of Darling St. If my memory serves my right there was even was a genuine 'Gigi', though she moved on years back. Pizza was always the go-to back then and it is still the case. We visited with a friend a couple of weeks ago and ordered the vegetarian pizza, the gnocchi pesto and the veal. It was all good, satisfying and reasonably priced. No-one was unhappy with their meal. BYO wine, though not beer. And they still do a lot of takeaways

  • My 3rd visit to Gigi's The Pizzas have a delicious soft crust which both of us thought was perfect. We had the Margherita to make sure we could enjoy the crust. We had a single seafood platter which was enough for us both. In my opinion, the grilled prawns were as good as any prawn dish I've eaten in my lifetime and Brenda loved the calamari. Oysters were good too - I love oysters. We had 3 nice waitresses on all 3 occasions, and the wines on each night, white, white and a red this night were all nice and I'm fairly choosy with wines even though I'm no connoisseur. Gigi's is great value, good Italian food and nice atmosphere right in the middle of 8 restaurants.
