Tiella是家庭式的意式餐厅，主打那不勒斯和意大利南部料理，大部分菜肴都由意大利传统铸铁锅烹饪而成，很有特色。

  • Tiella is a small restaurant that seems to have a better sound engineering than most, one can sit down and talk without screaming. This is getting to be rare in NY, and highly welcome. As usual in many better Italian restaurants in NY, the food is quite tasty but not really authentic. The spaghetti a la carbonara (one of my favorite Roman dishes) arrived swimming in sauce. It was tasty, but this is NOT what carbonara is supposed to be, a dry concoction of spaghetti mixed vigorously with eggs, cheese, bacon, and black pepper. The first dishes of small pizzas were tasty and the wine (Brunello di Montalcino 2009) was excellent for $100. Two people with two small pizzas, one eggplant with sauce and Parmigiano cheese and one carbonare costed (with the wine) $170 before tip. With the falling flight prices you can hope to fly to Rome, eat around the Ghetto and return for a similar price. But this is NY.

  • There are not a lot of seats but this is a hidden gem. We love to visit and partake of the limited but excellent menu. Highly recommend it.

  • My partner and I have been periodic regulars at Tiella, a tiny little spot on 1st Avenue in the 60s. Despite it's small size (and cramped quarters) Tiella turns out some wonderful, creative and solidly satisfying Italian comfort food. Their speciality--tiellas--which are really individual pizzas are very creative and make a great appetizer shared between two. Main dishes are all good, and the service is friendly and attentive. Overall a very nice neighborhood dining experience.
