Rizelli is off Istiklal Street and Taksim Square among some dozens of pubs and restaurants. The prices are very reasonable for the location and service is friendly. The manager/owner speaks good German too I have been there now several times and will come back whenever I am in that part of Istanbul!

Hands down my favorite meal in Istanbul! This is a very small Italian restaurant in the Taxim (sp?) area. They make great mixed drinks and present with you with rolls that just came out of the oven to start with. There are sauces (pesto, olive oil, vinegar, and others) to go with the rolls and salads. Their pasta was incredible! Get the gorgonzola gnocchi! It was fantastic. After dinner, they brought us a complementary plate of tiramisu which was so good that we ordered another plate.

The carpaccio and calzone were delicious!! Real Italian flavours for a great price. I will definitely be going back.

This is a small friendly cafe/bar/restaurant that cooks great food - fresh and great value for money. Bizarrely, the thing that struck me about this place was the heating. As soon as we sat down (and visited 3 times during our holiday) the friendly waiter appeared with heating to make sure we were warm enough (it's bloody cold in December!) They have rooms upstairs and we will probably try and stay there next visit as they were genuinely very welcoming.
