  • Literally across the street from the Visconti Palace Hotel (our choice on several visits to Rome), L'Antico Porto is great. We have eaten at many restaurants in Rome, but the location, quality of food and service, and reasonable prices make this a recurring pick. The spaghetti with fresh anchovies and pecorino is especially good. This time we even took a priest friend (born, raised and living in Rome), and a real critic of his native food, and he was impressed. L'Antico Porto is a good pick even if you arn't staying across the street.

  • This place was great. We had the steamed seafood as an appetizer, which came in a delicious lemon and olive oil sauce. Husband had ravioli stuffed with ricotta and salmon, and I had the steak with a salad. Both were delicious! Cannot recommend this place highly enough- we were tired from a day of Ancient Rome sightseeing and were just looking for a place to eat that was close, and we were very pleasantly surprised.

  • Italian restaurant across from our hotel..(Visconti Palace) close by as we didn't want to venture too far out last night in Rome..we ordered the anchovy pasta which was really tasty with fresh anchovies..yummy!! If you like anchovies as we do..very quick on the up take of your plates but no biggy really...wine was good and affogato was a decent serve.
