We dined here for a family birthday celebration. It was an excellent choice. The deep fried Catfish in ponzu sauce is one of their specialties, it did not disappoint. It was large enough for an entree portion for two to three people. The duck was another excellent dish. We purchased one bottle of chardonnay, and brought a second bottle of our own, if you purchase one bottle of wine they will not charge corkage on the bottle you bring. Service is good and unobtrusive (unlike most restaurants today). The ambiance is quiet and zenlike.

Took my mom there for mothers day and it was such a treat! The staff is always friendly and the food fabulous. My mom had a wonderful time and Irene and Justin made it a special evening. Its our local favorite and we love to go there for special occasions!

I found that this restaurant did not live up to its reviews. My rating is, if anything, overly generous and perhaps colored by the fact that there seem to be very few good restaurants in Pasadena. I ate in 5 Pasadena restaurants last week, and this was #4. The restaurant itself was OK, with nicely spaced tables. Decor was not memorable. Service was average at best. We were a party of 5, and when we sat down there were 5 place settings and 3 wine glasses. The 3 wine glasses were undisturbed and not added to until drinks arrived much later. A couple of us had wine by the glass. Mine was recommended by the waiter, was the least expensive choice in that kind of wine, and was quite good. Cudos to the waiter. The food, however, was very disappointing. I had a sea bass special that was unrecognizable as sea bass and indeed it was hard to tell if it was even fish. It didn't taste bad, it just had little taste at all. Others had pretty much the same reaction to their main courses. Perhaps it was the style of cooking? But I am fond of pretty much any style of cooking, and everyone in our group had the same reaction, so perhaps it was something else.
