Barrio Latino is in the heart of a very Jewish community and it serves the purpose. The food is very good but not very authentic. If you are traveling to Miami for authentic Cuban food try little Havana or the restaurant Versailles who is frequent by politicians

Located in Aventura, Miami, this Latin american food restaurant is easy accessible from US1, and for being located in a commercial plaza, parking is never an issue. Has a wide Menu where all main dishes from all over south america could be enjoyed. Wine selection is appropriate, rich in Argentinian and Chilean wines, some Californian’s and a few Europeans too. Full Bar, atmosphere is very pleasant and attention Is good. I had been there several times over the last three years and I find the place very consistent and reliable. Reservation is recommended. The only downside is that despite Miami sleeps and dinning late, this place close kitchen by 10:00 pm. Down there is when the action almost start. Places normally close by Midnight. Hint: do not restrain to tasted a beef empanada.... (Oven or fried) ..Remarkable.

We went to this place as it was a short walk from our rented condo. We were in Miami so Latin food seemed to be the thing to do. We got there at 3:10 and the lunch specials ended at 3. The waiter declined our "invitation" to allow us to order from the lunch menu. Too bad as it was a better value than the dinner menu. I ordered the Cuban Style pulled pork with black beans and plantains. The pulled pork was alternately dry and juicy within the same dish. The black beans were excellent and the plantains were, well, what can you say about them - they were plantains. The best thing I can say is to get there before 3 for the lunch menu.
