4 of our dishes (including rice) arrived cold. Told the staff. They laughed & told me that's the way it's supposed to be. I said I wanted freshly cooked hot rice at least as I was afraid the rice was sitting around at room temperature & could make me ill. They grudgingly took the rice back & returned about 5 min later with another bowl of cold rice. No please or thank you or apology Bar meals we ate in hotels this was the most expensive meal by far of our Malaysian stay. AVOID!!

The dishes are small portions and priced well that I was able to try a number of dishes without overspending. The restaurant can get quite busy but there's always a table available to seat diners. As it's outdoor seating, merchants will come up to you every so often trying to sell a selfie stick or other items. They're harmless and a simple no thanks will get them moving on. The food does take a bit of time to come out so it's a good opportunity to do some people watching while you wait.

I came to Jalan Alor at noon which only left some restaurant opened. Xin Ji Kitchen has various menu. If you want to try Malaysian & Chinese cuisine, this place probably is one stop solution. But the taste is average and the price for some items quite expensive. Nevertheless, their service good enough.

Tried this place after eating at sai woo just next door. The speed with which the umbrellas when up when the rain came was the same and the general care of customers was great. The food was ok. As always probably depends on want you pick a bit. We have the ginger and onion chicken. Nice enough but expensive @ Rm35.
