  • Nothing beats having crispy handmade prata and a cup of teh Tarik in the morning. My kids and I frequent Thohirah Restaurant at Jalan Kayu as we love their different kinds of handmade pratas and beverages. Their prata is crispy on the outside and has a slight crisp on the outside and there's so many types to choose from! You can have egg prata, cheese prata, plaster prata, paper prata, etc. Even for drinks, there's teh Tarik, teh Chino, teh o limau, etc.

    At Thohirah restaurants, there are many other food choices. You can expect North Indian cuisine, Indian rojak, satay, etc, their menu is extensive. If you want something reasonable, order their all day deluxe prata set. At $11, it includes an egg prata and plain prata, a drink and chicken curry. A meal at Thohirah is always filling and satisfying, highly recommend it to food lovers in Singapore!

  • It is not too far from where we live plus this restaurant is absolutely blessed by having the only large public carpark next to the restaurant. Service is ok and functional. Don't expect anything more. Food is served quite quick unless they are extremely busy, which is Sally the case at dinner time and late night. My go to place for roti prata and mee goreng.

  • Went to this restaurant on 02/04/16. We had 7 of us. We got our seats a few mins after. We sat for 20mins! With no menu on the table. A huge dissapointment. No staff attended to us. My fiance decided to take our own order so he went to the cashier. He waited for 10mins. The cashier attended to him by saying they're full and they won't be taking anymore orders. I then called a staff nearby to take my order, he looked at me and walk away. We were all so angry we walked off and stop by at tang tea.

  • I don't usually review a place twice but on a recent visit, there were a number of noticeable changes that got our attention. First, there seemed to be a lot more engagement from the waiters who tried to coax us to order specific (ahem...more expensive) dishes. For commonly ordered dishes, e.g., roti prata (with or without filling), service was amazingly quick. Heck, the nasi briyani even came with fancier plates and plate covers. Having said that, we didn't think the quality of the food was any different from our past visits. And all these 'improvements' do come at a jacked-up price - I mean, $8 for nasi briyani? Also, do check your bill carefully - we found that the cost of some items did not correspond with what was stated in the menu.
