I'd been there for more than three times.. owner knows good customer service. I tried buffet style lunch but actually they served plenty of dishes on my tables, if u don't feel much, u can order one meat dish n rice in more cheap price. Tip: try in less busy meal time otherwise wait for waiter showup :-P

This is a great place to try local authentic Burmese food. You chose from different kinds of protein (chicken, fish, pork, beef or whatever that is available) and the vegetable tapas will come with. Tapas include sautéed green leaves, bamboo shoots, eggplant etc stewed in oil, and other dishes mainly stewed in oil or sautéed. I love this whole concept of being able to try a little bit of everything. The restaurant looks like a typical road side shop with bamboo walls and a roof with simple wooden tables and chairs inside.The very casual restaurant is exposed and very much outdoors like all of the other restaurants surrounding it, and there is a beer bar next door. As of June 2014, the meal was around 1,000 per person, so 2 people with large beer came out to 3,000 which was like $3 USD. Definitely local prices, cheapest that I've had in Bagan, including even the food stalls I had been to. The restaurant is located in an area where open air restaurants cluster across form the Hotel at Thabar Gate. The lady there was really nice and attentive, we chatted about the Japanese TV show "Oshin" that was on TV that night. That TV show seems to leave a lot of good impressions about Japanese hard working women around the world.

Such a friendly and funny lady. Greeted eagerly by Mama Toe Toe Win and family, you want it you got it! Noodle soup, mutton curry, garlic rice with pork and mushrooms!? Whatever you want she will do what she can. Two can dine for 3000Kyatt (splitting the "buffet", SOOO BIG) Rice, pork,fish,chicken,mutton,bamboo shoots, peanut pastes, chilly's and so much more. Your table is full of plates by the time she brings it all and so is your stomach when you leave! Good description of the place: "Toe Toe Win buffet restaurant in Old Bagan is the one with the bright green-painted tables just by the entrance to the upmarket Hotel at Tharabar Gate. The contrast between the two couldn't be more marked: " But if your confused about it ask any local around old Bagan and they will mostly likely stop what they are doing entirely, hop on their scooter (with you on the back) and drive you there themselves. This was a little roadside cafe stop opposite the Treasure restaurant and a very mom and pop/Anthony Bourdain-ish place. They bring out a huge variety of small curries, plates, rice, and soup. We were able to try various flavors and things we hadn't yet tried in other areas of Myanmar and it was extremely filling. Once you run out of a dish they will fill it back up so don't feel obligated to finish it all. Definitely stop by here while touring the temples for a nice selection of real Bagan food! I think the whole price with drinks for 2 people was about US $6.
