  • The negatives first: the place is crowded, too noisy and the service can be brusque. But the food is generally quite good and the menu creative. Perhaps our brusqueserver was a bit overwhelmed by the crowd...but a place that seats that number of people needs to be prepared for it. I'd return again,....but at a time less crowded.

  • Met friends for dinner while in town. They picked the place because they had never been before but had heard great reviews. The restaurant itself has a very nice decor, sort of upscale. We started by sharing the baked ricotta appetizer. It was enough for three people to share. Very flavorful mixing the basil with the tomato sauce and ricotta. I had the squid ink spaghetti fra diavlo. It came with large shrimp. It was flavorful and the spaghetti was fresh and cooked to perfection. One friend had the aglanetti pasta with sweet Georgia corn. It was different and flavorful. My other friend had the strozzapretta bolognese. Again fresh and flavorful pasta. The ratio of bolognese to pasta was perfect. We shared the plates and there was enough for two doggie bags. Service was great. I was catching up with friends I hadn't seen in several years and they were in no rush to serve us and made the meal comfortable in terms of timing. The service was very attentive to our needs. Overall, it was reasonably priced for fresh and flavorful food. Definitely a place to go to again.

  • Excellent quality, not overpriced, excellent and unique Italian fare Squid ink spaghetti was excellent and their home made meatballs are the best. Not a bad dish on the menu and very good wine menu!

  • I had great hopes that this would be a great Italian experience. I had read many favorable reviews about this restaurant. We were celebrating the birthdays of my wife and daughter. The experience with mostly disappointing. The lady that greeted by wife and daughter was not very friendly according to my wife and daughter but did wish them a happy birthday. She seated them at the worst table in the restaurant, right next to the kitchen prep area and the table for four was very small. I guess intimate dinning! The service was very slow the entire night and it took us over 2.5 hours to have an appetizer, bottle of wine, dinner and one desert. And to make it worse, they didn't even put a candle on the cake or offer to comp the birthday desert. There is some good - the appetizer was a pizza which was fabulous. The only complaint was it was too small. The Chianti was wonderful and reasonable priced, one of the few things you could say about no246. My dinner partners all ordered pasta dished and were happy with the food but it were too salty. My wife watched the chef heap a huge handful of salt in the dishes as they were prepared for the tables. My dish was a fish special and was very good but not very Italian, seemed more French or Greek. Desert was a chocolate dish served in a bowl that was very good. The other problem with this restaurant is it is located in downtown Decatur, so parking is not at the restaurant and can be problematic to find spaces. I found a parking deck a few blocks from the restaurant. I think from know on we will stick with the best Italian in town, Pricci's. We have been going there for years and have yet to have a bad meal or experience.
