  • Food quality was lousy. We ordered the Florentine T-bone steak medium rare -- it took forever for the food the come and when it did, the steak was small and well done! I asked them why one of the steak looked a lot smaller but the waitress argued that they are the same size. We didn't argue further and just ate them. My second mistake was not saying anything right away about the dryness and how well done the steak was -- the server said we already ate more than half of it and nothing can do done about it!

  • Stopped by for a Sunday evening snack. As a very pleasant surprise, we got a big side of potato crisps and salted peanuts free of charge with our drinks and tiramisu!! It was so unexpected and made us very happy. The tiramisu was delicious too.

  • I go to Florence once or twice a year and Lion Cafe is the best cafe in Florence. I can't believe it's taken me this long to review! The owners and all the workers are very friendly and efficient. The food and wine are excellent. The cafe is great for breakfast lunch or dinner. The modern decor is very bright and open. The patio is the best once the weather is nice. The clientele is awesome! Can't wait to go back! And Giorgio leather shop next door is the best in Florence as well!!

  • I've been studying abroad in Florence for 3 months now and Lion Cafe is by far my favorite cafe in the city. As a student especially, it's the best place to go. Free wifi, comfortable atmosphere to get work done and they're open late. They have student discounts and don't charge to take coffee to go on top of already having reasonable prices for delicious food. Good music, great drinks and even better staff. Sem, the owner, Gea, Sam and the rest of the staff are pretty much my adopted Italian family. If you're not a student, they offer awesome deals on food and drink combos and have outdoor seating next to San Lorenzo to socialize with friends, meet locals and even watch a football match. Lion Cafe will be one of the things I miss most about leaving Florence and it'll be nearly impossible to find a place quite as friendly and personal back home.
