Midway through our three weeks in Australia, we still hadn't tried the lamingtons that we had heard about, and then we found this bakery. They had three flavors of lamingtons, we tried two and really enjoyed both. I was disappointed to not have another chance to stop back by.

Was fancying some nice cakes or something as a treat. Great bread and rolls but that was it. Had more choice in the supermarket but then maybe they had all come from the bakery in the first pace?!

I am missing this place already as I write this review. Step in at any time of day and you will see that it's a busy place with both locals and tourists. The ladies behind the counter were all smiles whether you're a visitor or a regular, and their service was generally fast. This is a bakery with no dining area. The price is very reasonable. The pies are the best, and they have such a wide range ! Crust is just about buttery without being too oily or flaky. Fillings were always fresh and tasty. We use it as our take away option when we were en route to an attraction early in the morning or around lunch time. I also tried their sweets and breads which were also very lovely. If you are in Kingscote, this is a worthwhile food stop.

This is a great place to stop for your daily supplies to put in the picnic basket. Get a takeaway coffee as a heart starter and you are ready for another exciting day on KI. All the bread is just fine and the array of buns and cakes sufficient to meet the needs of those in search of a sugar hit. The apple scrolls certainly hit the spot.
