  • Having had excellent meals throughout our visit to Tokyo and Kyoto at several other highly rated Japanese kaiseki restaurants, we were equally excited to visit this small hidden gem of Kyoto. We entered the restaurant which consist of three small tables as well as counter-seating for four people at the kitchen. Greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Takamatsu (Mr. Takamatsu is the only chef there and Mrs. Takamatsu is the host and waitress), we were led to our table and from there the kaiseki experience began... As always, the Japanese are very kind, smiley and try everything to communicate in English. When our appetizer arrived, a delicious dish of shrimp, grilled bamboo shoots, colza & cauliflower, everything was written out in English and Mrs. Takamatsu did her very best to explain everything. She even wrote down the ingredients and later on throughout the meal she even drew the food on a small piece of paper beforehand, so we would know what was what (even though she explained it briefly as well). The dishes were not only wonderful to look at - they also tasted delicious. Even though the kaiseki restaurants we've been to that has two or three Michelin stars bring almost double the ingredients onto the plate, the chef here still managed to release equal amount of flavor from fewer ingredients. Everything went very well together, however one dish consisting of simply spinach, carrot, white yam and tofu skin seemed a little too simple. It did work well as a form of palette cleanser before the main (rice) dish. Our favorite (and the most beautiful) dish was the third dish, after the sashimi. It had a very interesting - and delicious - firefly squid smoked in sakura (cherry blossom). Together with several other elements of the dish everything worked so well together, did not over power each other, and it felt like the chef was trying to tell a story - I wish we knew Japanese to ask... We enjoyed it none-the-less! The keep this a little short I won't go into details about each dish

  • 很有档次的一家餐厅了,经历了好几次预定最终才成功,菜品的质量果然是非常的好,让人感觉很留恋,不过价格也不低,所以只能是偶尔一次

  • 第一次来日本高松,这次我们主要是在四国玩,初到这里第一件事还是逃不过来一碗热腾腾的拉面,不管是站着吃,还是去吃有名的一阑拉面,每家都有自己的独特风味。第一天到达因为时间有限,在住宿附近的商品街逛了逛。这里的人流量确实没有大阪的心斋桥多,到了晚上7点大部分商店都关门了。所以等我们吃好饭出来,基本逛不了商店咯~哈哈哈

  • 高松在古代是叫赞岐,所以现在满街看到的赞岐乌冬面就是发源自高松。去高松旅行必然要吃不少的乌冬面,我在一些有历史的乌冬面馆吃过,在车站边上的小摊上也吃过,也在直岛旅行时吃过,还在一些自助式乌冬面的餐厅吃过,把它们汇集起来作为在屋中旅行的一个小小回忆片段。
