We went to dinner at the Royal Botanical on a Saturday night with three adults and three young children. We were extremely impressed with high level of service from the staff. They were very friendly and our waitress was consistently attentive and helpful throughout the night. The quality of the food was exceptional with very generous servings and a fantastic kids menu. Every kids meal came with salad and was cooked freshly unlike some of the other places that serve pre-packaged frozen food such as fish and chips and with no healthy accompaniments. The layout of the restaurant was very cosy, with lovely decore. There are several rooms which have tables and a function rooms for large groups. We will definitely return and have already recommended the Royal to a number of friends and family.

I'd like to begin my review with the fantastic hands-on website that The Royal Hotel has. Photos, maps, menus, packages, wine lists for all occasions -you name it and it is there. This was especially of interest to the family members not doing the official planning but could read up on the event. The Function Organiser at The Royal Hotel was amazing. So helpful, professional and understanding with great communication and organising skills- thank you for a great day Ellie Chamberlain!!! Thanks to you the afternoon was an absolute family hit! The staff were all helpful, polite and hard working even with three, one year old children, it all ran super smoothly. The 7 piece finger food package was superb and utilising the private bar in the function room was great! We will definitely return..in fact I already have!!

Last Saturday night we held a function for over 40 people in a private room in The Botanical which is upstairs in The Royal Hotel, Leichhardt. The venue has recently been renovated and looks great! The staff were courteous, friendly and efficient. We had our own dedicated bar and bar server so getting drinks & cocktails was quick and easy. The food is always of a good standard and that too arrived quickly for our guests. We opted to host the party in a semi formal way - with a large area near the bar for people to mingle and talk and seating provided for around 30 people, so that they could sit and eat when they were ready too. The music was upbeat and not too loud to drown out the chatter. Everyone commented on what a great night they had and how impressed they were with The Botanical. We recommend it for small parties and functions.

I had lunch here upstairs in The Botanical. This is the more upscale dining part to the hotel with a vibrant and funky design, inclusive of a outdoor garden seating area. The drinks were great, pricing for Sydney was matched well, but the food was not up to par. We bite into something very hard and strange in one of our shared plates, the halloumi was overcooked and the salad was boring. If they can offer a more exciting menu - this would be an all round place to be in Inner West.
