  • We had a brief business lunch, and service was quick and efficient. The menu could have included a salad, which unfortunately it did not. However, we had a delicious starter with asparagus, very nice!

  • We went in for a casual lunch while wondering round Montpellier. The quality of the food here is very good. I had Prawn tempura with salad to start, pretty faultless followed by a ribeye steak which was excellent. Good service, good food, nice building and excellent location. Marginally pricey for two courses but the quality was high. Would highly recommend.

  • Insense is an excellent gastronomic restaurant located near the Musee Fabre, close the Place de la Comédie in Montpellier. The restaurant has some menu options between 22 and 32 euros (without wine), where you can eat 1 dish, 2 dishes or the complet menu. I tasted the complete menu and we enjoy a lot with a crème brûlée of foie, a tartar of beef and an apple pie. All dishes were excellent and modern (they are a modern interpretation of the traditional dishes). Moreover, you can dinner in the terrace, in front of the Musee Fabre. It is the perfect site to enjoy the food and the summer! The two wines that I tasted (one white and one red) also were very good!

  • If you are in the vicinity of Musée Fabre or strolling along the tree lined Esplanade Charles de Gaulle or even lurking in some of the grimy streets that just about pass for atmospheric, you might like to try this clean and clinical restaurant. We lunched here, having found it by accident on a hot June day and were not disappointed. Unlike other reviewers, we found the service obliging, attentive and prompt. Everything came with a smile and no patronising Franglais. They have a scheme of one dish for 21€, two for 26€ and one could have a dessert for a bit more. The choice of dishes was interesting. Our starters were Creme Caramel of foie gras, which was extraordinarily tasty ( if too big as a starter) and green asparagus with poached egg. These were followed by cuttlefish in a garlic and garlic sauce with white rice and cabillaud stuffed with chorizo with a yellow rice galette. We drank a glass of fresh local Languedoc rosé and two coffees and the bill came to 52€. The ease by which we passed from culnery to fine art in the Musee added to the laziness of the occasion. One added bonus in June is that the whole outside wall of this restaurant is festooned with a fabulous fragrant white jasmine in June with a fragrance close to being excessively wonderful.
