Reasonable food for a pub but a bit on the expensive side. Service good, tables not squashed in. £58 for two starters, two main courses one glass of wine and a diet coke.

Me and my partner were staying on the park, we checked the reviews for the onsite restaurant and decided to give it a go. We was told it was fully booked but they had a last minute cancellation which got us in!! From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. The girls working there are very attentive without being over bearing. We had drinks at the bar before being seated. We decided to go for it and order the Chateaubriand! As our main would be quite a feast we just decided to share a starter of deep fried Camembert nuggets which were delicious!!! I so wanted more! So crispy and gooey inside. The main arrived, we decided not to get the Yorkshire pudding and they let us swap that for the chunky chips, they also let us swap the peppercorn sauce for the port and Stilton. Nothing was any trouble to them and did everything to accommodate our wishes regarding the meal. The Chateaubriand was amazing, lovely tender beef that melted in your mouth. We loved it! We had a dessert too which we never normally do but we was so impressed with the food we wanted to try more. The trio of desserts was gorgeous, sticky toffee pudding, gooey meringue and creme brûlée, all executed to perfection. The plates were warm, the service from the girls was excellent and the food was fresh, cooked from scratch and very well cooked. Upon leaving we thanked the girls for a great night, as it was valentines night I even got a rose as I left. Well done to the chef and to the girls for providing me and my partner the perfect valentines meal. I wish we lived closer so we could come again and again and again!!!!

The Bothy is in a lovely comfortable room attached to the caravan site. You do not need to stay at the site to eat there but you must book. The menu is creative and certainly the food we ate was delicious and plentiful, we could only manage courses! The staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel really welcome. It is not the cheapest restaurant in the area but at £14-£16 for a main course it is great value for money.
