  • Kades is well worth the short taxi ride from Potsdam, and can easily be combined with a visit to Cecilienhof. A wonderful experience with an "out in the country" feel. The weather didn't cooperate during our visit, but it appeared that there was some stunning outdoor dining space when the weather is fair. Really knowledgeable service (we had an idea we were being served by the owner, although that seems unlikely). Highly recommend!

  • After a nice tour of Sanssouci, we visited Kades for a very satisfying dinner. The restaurant is nice with outdoor patio seating, though some of the furniture seems a bit dated and definitely don't pay attention to the paintings on the walls. Nevertheless, the menu has some nice local offerings and the service was very friendly and professional. The nicely portioned dishes were all very well prepared and very tasty without being overly salty or drowned in sauce. The price is very acceptable which makes the dinner excellent in value. Definitely worth a visit when in Potsdam.

  • On a Sunday afternoon, we rode one of the bus out to the area of Ceciienhof, the location where the famous Potsdam Agreement reached, and went looking for a place to eat. There are not too many choices in this area, but we stumbled upon this place and just decided we couldn't spend more time looking around. It turned out to be quite a good choice. We had the trout and a cheese salad along with two very good glasses of wine. Everything was very, very good. The ambience was great and the service excellent. We would go back.
