Prosopa is a Greek restaurant with South-African touches. They serve very good food and have a price winning wine list to choose from. The service is very good with attention to detail. I like it for lunch and dinner. Once a month they do a wine tasting with food which has a lot of success.

Prosopa is just amazing! To start, the wine list is extensive, with great recommendations to pair with every dish. The chefs recommendations from the starters to the mains were exceptional especially the Ostrich steak with Camembert cheese and figs, although we found the Fillet steak with Camembert to be a bit salty. For starters I would definitely recommend the Spanish prawns and for dessert the Rooibos Crème brûlée, which had the perfect consistency. Definitely noteworthy of the evening was that our steaks were done perfectly to every person's desire, whether it was ordered to be blue rare or medium, one of the first restaurants in Pretoria to get it perfect... One downside of the restaurant was however the service, we had to keep asking for the waiter, whether it was for more wine, water or to clear the table after every course. Nevertheless, all in all the ambiance is amazing! The overall feel amazing and the food to die for.

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Pretoria! From decor and ambience to food and drinks, this little gem hidden away in Waterkloof is a must! A delicious wine list and a good variety of gin set the mood for a relaxing and sociable evening with friends. Starters had everyone at the table wishing for more, the spanish prawns and shellfish bisque being absolute standouts! Mains were yet again devine! Most of the table enjoyed the range of chef's specialities for the night, while the Karoo ostrich fillet from the menu proved equally delectable. All steaks were cooked to perfection and accompanying sauces were increadibly well paired. All round deserts were good, although a few technical faults were picked up. At R450 per person for three courses, wine , bottled water and cappucino, this exceptional meal was thoroughly enjoyed! Hints: For a private setting, book one of the booths blocked out with beautifully lit curtains. Winter nights are best enjoyed by booking a table close to the cosy fireplace, while summer nights call for a table on the deck outside. If you are not an avid wine drinker your night will cost slightley less at around R350 for three courses, drinks, coffee and bottled water.

I have been frequenting this lovely establishment for many years now. I have yet to have a disappointing meal yet. Perfect venue for entertaining vegetarians guests. The starter Greek Platter is a must, so are all the mails especially carni and pescatarian dishes. Try the special. Great wine list as well as sparkling wine. Romantic enough for date night as well. Parking can be an issue. service levels vary.
