That was probably the nicest place where I was eating in Savannakhet. Place was really beautiful and peaceful. Of course my Finnish opinion about a lake is really different compared this one but it was still really nice place! We were hanging there with some local people and they took care of food so I don't actually know how large menu they have. But we ate some local foods like papaya salad, local fish, kau pat kai (or something like that) etc. and they were soo good! Style of eating was on the floor but there's chance for having chairs and tables if you would like to eat more western way. Little minus was that the water was really dirty.

As you pass by the lake on the way to and back from the stupa That Ing Hang, you will see several waterfront beer halls/restaurants. This restaurant is the last one you would see if you drive/ride from Savannakhet town (or the first one if you come from the stupa). We chose this restaurant among other competitors as the conditions looked better and it looked popular among locals. We liked the ambience very much. We sat on the floor (pillows available) of the waterfront area and enjoyed the view. Each group gets a hut (look like a sunbed) and I found it romantic. We were very pleased to have stopped at this place on the way back to town. We had drinks and a bag of crisps only but they seem to offer a variety of local food. If you are visiting the stupa, we highly recommend you to stop at this place for a drink.
