Chi Dynasty at 12229 Ventura Blvd. in Studio City has good food and friendly, efficient service. The Egg Drop Soup and Hot and Sour Soup are wonderful and the Beijing Duck is terrific. They even do something called Vegetarian Beijing Duck which is surprisingly good. We'll be back.

Great place here! Service was wonderful. Great food, nothing too crazy and too Asian food here. It should be easy for American people to ease into Asian culture food. We had: -Hot and Sour Soup is awesome -Kung Pow Chicken -Mongolian beef -Dynasty Lo Mein Combination Would love to come back here again!

I had been eating at the original Chi Dynasty in East Hollywood for decades. The food and the service were always reliably good - occasionally great. I was delighted when they opened in Studio City, where I live This version is very much a "hit or miss" proposition, as I noted in a previous review. I tend to be pretty forgiving, accepting that every restaurant has a bad day now and again, but this experience was just too awful to forgive. I phoned for a delivery. I emphasized what I say every time I eat at Chi Dynasty, whether in person, home delivery, or take-out. I DO NOT EAT bell peppers. They make me sick. I ordered kung pao chicken, and repeated NO bell peppers. I ordered shrimp & scallops in garlic sauce, and reiterated NO bell peppers. Let me not go through every item I ordered, but with each one, I reminded the order-taker to omit bell peppers from the dish. The total bill was $82. That's a LOT of bell peppers!! The moo shu chicken I ordered (the only dish that isn't made with bell peppers) wasn't even in the delivery bag, but it was on the bill. I always feel generous toward the people who drive delivery cars and probably don't make much money, so I gave him a one-hundred dollar bill and told him to keep the change. I would not have tipped $18 if I were sitting there in the restaurant. As I opened each item, I took it from the bag and dumped it into the garbage disposal. The flavor of bell peppers is so strong that it permeates everything, so I couldn't just pick out the peppers. We split an order of egg roll and an order of steamed dumplings, and drank some prosecco that a friend had given me as a gift. This is what I got for $82, plus tip??
