  • Versailles, with all the grandeur can be a daunting place to visit. All that gold and sparkling crystal can be overwhelming. A good place to refresh your senses and have a bit to eat is at La Petite Venise near the intersection of the of the grand canals in the park. About 30 minute walk from the Chateau, we chose to eat in the garden. Once a repair boat house for the gondolas, it was restored to look more like a stable. Breaded veal steak is on the high end on the menu prices, but the sliced ham and salad was delicious. We tried a very inventive dessert of profiteroles stuffed with raspberry ice. After lunch continue your tour to the Trianons and gardens. By 4 you will be tired, and your feet sore. Nap Time?

  • Very nice relaxing cozy restaurant in the gardens of Versailles. So nice to sit in an upscale place after walking for hours. Small place with beautiful sculpture at the end with what looked like horse troughs. I believe it use to be the stables. We had the spaghetti frais with scallops, squids, octopus, cuttlefish and tomato sauce. Really yummy! Also served with rolls with capers in them. A really nice lunch with great service! You have to keep walking to the right and go back behind the boutique to find it. Really nice!

  • It is nice to find this sit down, full service restaurant within the grounds of Versailles. Service is friendly, the food was good and the prices were rather reasonable given the location.

  • We stopped here first looking for food, and maybe the guy just wasnt interested in helping - but the waiter wasn't very helpful about anything. I even sent my French speaking other half in first ( a trick i used all holiday) and yet he still looked as though we were an inconvenience. We left - without ordering and he didnt even say thank you or bye. I think he knew....
