I stayed at the Movenpick and Caravelle hotels which are five star hotels in Vietnam. I arrived really late and all the local restaurants and bars had closed for the night and I came across the cafe Capri. It's a back packers delight and on first site is a very simple style back water cafe restaurant tucked away down the side street 50 yards from my hotel. I was having a bad night as I arrived late on the flight from Bangkok plus on my own hungry and tired and miles from home. By chance I passed the cafe restaurant and asked the restaurant owner if he was still open. No problem he replied and we struck up a conversation which was great and he spoke very good English and was most accommodating. He recommended a few dish selections which arrived together with a super cold beer. The food was amazing and amazing value. I was so impressed I sked the owner if he was on trip adviser and he replied he was not familiar with this.i was so impressed with the food and his great mannerism that I wrote to trip adviser for this place to be added. If you want five star looks this is not for you but for great Vietnamese local food it's great. Seafood is to order only as it comes in fresh but I took the choice of goose and other local favourites which cost very little and tasted superb. Perfect for back packers,students or someone looking just for great food and a super chat with the owner. Truly authentic and 100 percent Vitenamese.
