  • I spotted this place while walking around the old quarter one night. I was pretty hungry and there were a few people waiting in line so I decided to give it a shot. It was really good and really affordable as well. Not that Hanoi is lacking in the delicious inexpensive street food department, but it was a nice change from the usual if you're looking to take a break from more typical Vietnamese fare.

  • Probably not very Vietnamese but tasty all the same. Our son's friend who lived here for a few months recommended this. It is not very fancy but you can sit down on the miniature chairs and table and have a filling doner kebab for a pittance. Very tasty! It does "drive through" too- while we were eating, locals on their motor bikes came up and sat on the bike while the kebab was prepared, then they drove off.

  • This isn't going to be a very long review and in fairness there are so few frills of this little kebab takeaway that there really isn't very much to write about but if you have ever wandered about the streets of Hanoi and seen the many (sometimes slightly dodgy looking) kebab stalls that are very common, but never really wanted to take the plunge and tempt fate by eating at one of them, despite the delicious smells and large chicken spits slowly rotating then why not try this little place for a sample? It isn't a roving vendor and has a permanent outlet just off of the corner of Hang Chieu and there are no worries about language barriers here... Ask the friendly vendor for one (mot) kebab and he will hurry away at carefully throwing everything you need for a quick and tasty walkabout snack, grilled marinated chicken, pickles and various salad, all in a freshly toasted slice of split warm bread, and all for the kingly sum of 29'000VND. My partner and I grabbed one a couple of times during our 3 weeks or so in Hanoi and had no issues and were happy that the price for us was exactly the same as it was for the many locals who also picked one up from the place. Good solid snack food at as cheap as anything you will find on the street these days in Hanoi.
