The place can host like 8 people max and the owner always welcomes me like i was staying at his own place. He serves delicious coktails and Japanese snacks and plays great music, he had me discover plenty of Japanese jazz artists. Dont leave Tokyo without paying a visit there !

Ever wonder what it's like to be cool? Well you step into this place, have a drink and you'll be there. Best Jazz record collection around and if you're lucky Shunya will put on a request. Enjoy this gem. It's wonderful

Subtone has it all! Coffee, Cocktails, Jazz and Cool. This hidden little gem will make you feel like you've gone back in time to a secret speak easy. No live music, HOWEVER the deepest collections of Jazz records and Shunya will put anything he has on request. He'll even share a few cuts with you. Great selections of Whisky, Bourbons, Beer and specialty drinks. Expect great service here. There's a 500 yen cover but it's well worth it. Coffee service starts at 3:00 PM (15:00) open until about 2 AM. Near the Tamaramachi Station in Asakusa. Many tourist stay in this area so it may not be such a trek. Prepare to blend in with the locals in this dark and romantic bar. Get lost Address - Tokyo Taito Nishiasakusa 2-4-5, 320m from the station Tawaramachi. Telephone - 03-3845-1078
