Third visit to this restaurant in two trips to Tokyo - Chef Makato never fails to surprise and delight with his food creations. This time I got to enjoy the meal with my wife - we both found it delightful. The choices of sake are also excellent. (Be warned that it is helpful to come with a Japanese speaker).

Delightful restaurant run by Ayako Fukami and her husband Makato. Located across from Mizuno sportswear, after you exit B5 from the Shin-Ochanomizu stop of the Chiyoda line. I came here with regulars who have visited this restaurant for at least a decade. Makato started us with a platter of sashimi that included small american and japanese flags. Then we had a long line of surprises with several different sashimi fish dishes, fried lotus, giant sashimi oyster (with a special orange-flavored soy sauce), and fried octopus. Some of the other patrons had other special cooked fish dishes and passed one of them down for us to sample as well. We accompanied the meal with four different types of sake, tending to the dry preference and including kubota and hakkaisan. Ayako overfilled the glasses to also fill the small trays they sit in so these were more than just a standard pour. This was an extraordinary meal - delicious and fun. We are returning for a second experience tonight.
