Il Russo is truly a local favorite, and for good reason. The proprietor is the real deal, an Italian man who serves a limited, ever-changing menu comprised of only the freshest, most high quality ingredients. Eating here is more like being invited into his kitchen than to a restaurant. He usually offers three main choices a night, preceded by a super-fresh salad or the best antipasti I have ever tasted (and we have spent a lot of time in Italy), all breathtakingly well-priced, with a three course menu coming in under thirty euros. Top it off with an excellent and similarly well-priced Montepulciano, and you have struck gold. The beautiful Irish hostess will explain everything from who the neighborhood guests are (one 92-year-old Parisian dame is a daily regular) to how to snag a table outdoors on the quiet and elegantly picturesque corner.

This place is fantastic. Great food and the staff are so welcoming. It is owned by a father and son with another lady helping them. We ended up going back there 3 times during our stay of just over a week. They only have a few choices for main and desert but that changed each night. The food was delicious. It is very reasonably priced for both the food and the wine. We did the entrée, main, desert option and it was just 22 euro each. I read a few reviews for this place and saw that the front was used for the movie Inception. I thought that it would be fun to go there and eat. We don't speak French other than basic phrases and when we walked in the lady spoke in French but quickly realised we spoke English. When she spoke English it blew me away as she is from Ireland. She also showed us where the street market was to be held the next Thursday and Saturday mornings and also where to buy coffee beans to bring back home. It was raining the first time we went there and they were booked out inside but they wiped down an outdoor table and put it inside for us. We were very well looked after. I will definitely go back there next time I get the chance to go to Paris. I highly recommend the place.

What can I say? We were recommended by friends try and find a back street restaurant run by a family and you will get great food at a good price away from the tourists. So I searched on trip advisor for that and I found this place. What an experience, father and son served us, the father was quite a character with a big personality, making fun with the customers. It is not the place for a romantic dinner but it definitely was delicious food and we really enjoyed our evening. I give this a excellent review for the experience and just really good homemade food. Enjoyed a nice wine too. We were fortunate enough to sit right next to two locals who regularly eat here and that added to the experience giving us heads up for the market in the main Street the next morning.
