  • This quiet little hole-in-the-wall soba place looked good for lunch. It’s across from the Sanjo Station and right next to an alley leading to a tiny temple, and just down the street from Pig and Whistle. They had “plastic food” in the window outside and pictures of bowls of things with their prices tacked on the walls. The staff were kind and helpful in taking our order. We each had a ¥500 bowl of soba and pork, (including a lot of fatty pork). It was good stuff and quite reasonably priced. We don’t think they ever see tourists here but it was full of locals, which we take to be a good recommendation.
