I had only come across this "Cheers" Pub based at the Cinnamon Grand by accident after having Goggled Roast Beef in Colombo I had Sunday Bunch there today with my family and was greeted by Manager Medura P Weerasekara very politely in a no smoking area which was some distance from where the The Carvery Brunch that's Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding was being served The Roast Beef was possibly the best I have eaten in Colombo The roast beef as already indicated was excellent and was served either underdone red or medium done with a trimming of fat, one also had a choice of pork,chicken and of course vegetables a great Sunday Brunch My only negative observation about the restaurant was the smoking area, (nothing wrong with that) but this area should not have been placed close to the where the food was being served. I was a smoker many years ago and coming into contact with stale smoke particularly near food is really off putting Management at Cheers Pub please take not of my comments,as its not right for people for example with small children and people with difficulty walking abilities to walk long distances from were the food is being served Most Pubs the UK ban smoking or have area far away from the food I strongly suspect the thought about positioning the smoking area where it is is because of the large TV screen entertainment

They need more staff to work. It took soo long a waiter to come. Environment is pretty good. Decent crowd. But the service needs to be improved..

As a single traveler, a woman, I was not at all impressed. The service was poor. When I asked whether they had outdoors seating, I was told that to sit outdoors I should go next door to Noodles (a restaurant in the same hotel that I frequent and will review separately). I asked for a draft beer... which they did not have (a pub? what kind of a pub is that?!)... The menu was not very enticing, but I figured I was safe with fish and chips... wrong assumption. Surely that frying oil had seen better days!! All in all... a waste of what it could have been a nice dinner elsewhere!!
