With our group tour, we had a 2 hour boat ride and authentic Japanese dinner prepared for us. We removed our shoes upon entering the boat and sat traditional Japanese dining on the floor. The meal was very delicious, fresh sashimi and made to order tempura and all you can drink Kirin and Sake. We were allowed to view from the top deck and weather made for excellent picture taking. The experience was very well organized and made for a relaxing evening.

Cruise from the Tsukiji Fish Market to the Rainbow Bridge with a commentary in both Japanese and English. See the lights of Tokyo from the River. Several stops are made for photographs. There is a toilet aboard. You sit at floor level with your feet in a well. It tends to be rather noisy. Enjoyable food served throughout the cruise including various assorted sasimi, fish, tempura, rice, soup and Japanese sweet. Unlimited wine, beer, sake, juices and other drinks are all included in the cost.

A must do in Tokyo! Tired and claustrophobic of the busy Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ropponggi, etc., this "pleasure" boat is a good way to see Tokyo from another perspective without losing the joy of drinking. It goes through the old Tsukiji fish market along the river to the Rainbow bridge. I did appreciate the commentary that began once the boat started cruising. It lasted for only a few stations and then she cleverly retreated and gave way to more drinking and partying. Seating was semi traditional, we were seated on tatami but with compartment to put our legs in. Food was abundant, started with soup and some appetisers, followed by unlimited tempura, and of course the main attraction is unlimited alcohol on board. You may choose from beer, sake, shochu and probably some other liquors. I don't remember! It stopped at a few places for guests to go on to the upper deck for picture taking. It can be very busy with corporate parties and friend gatherings, making a reservation is highly recommended.

We were very intimidated by booking a yakatabune tour since it's mostly for locals and actually you have to book through your concierge as they only speak Japanese on the phone and require a bank transfer to guarantee a spot. But we read great reviews and wanted to have one tempura meal so we went for it. It was an amazing experience! The locals touring with us were super friendly, it was mostly families that night so karaoke did not take place but apparently that's a common activity on the boat. The food quality was surprisingly good, the appetizers were seasonal and tasted very home made and well seasoned, while all the tempura pieces were very crispy and the dipping sauce was very well seasoned. They stop the boat tour at various points so you can take photos and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke enough English to help attend to all of our needs, which was mostly top ups of the unlimited booze!! We also found dining tatami style on a boat to be quite charming and cool to see how the old feudal lords used to get down. Highly recommend
