  • The setting was very beautiful. The kimono clad waitstaff were very attentive and responsive to your needs. The building was constructed in the old style. There were screens and paintings by the famous calligrapher, Ibara in our room. As I was with a large group, we had a fixed price be to box lunch. It was interesting to try a variuos assortment of Japanese foods. Some of it, I liked and some I did not. The grounds were very peaceful. The restaurant was located a taxi ride away from our hotel which was in central downtown Kyoto. It was worth a taxi ride to eat at this restaurant. But be prepared to eat Japanese food not American Style Japanese food.
