  • I'm working next door at the mo so popped in for lunch yesterday. Big dish of very good pasta - the chef trained in Italy and to judge by all the Italian paraphernalia around the walls is a big fan of the country and its food - plus a decent salad, surprisingly good bread and pretty good self-service coffee to finish (which would have been improved by real milk, rather than the fake stuff in a little plastic carton). Oh, and a plate of fresh watermelon and melon chunks too - and all for around 1000 yen. Restaurant a bit functional: it's basically in a building owned by Osaka university, so it's kind of a glorified canteen - but nice and light and airy. The pasta dish was the same today, so I didn't go in again, but they have had different main dishes both days.
