Quite a rarity and a treat to find a restaurant that serves food that follows the Buddhist principles, thus being vegetarian and devoid of onion, garlic and other ingredients which are deemed to stimulate the mind too much. The restaurant can be found by choosing the electric city exit in Akihabara past the Gundam cafe under the JR train tracks. The restaurant in within a food market with lots of interesting food products. There are two options, the cheaper option (just under 1000 yen) includes one element from the top shelf and two from the bottom shelf. The other option is about 1600 yen. And it includes each element. Once can also ask for an option of brown rice or brown rice with azuki beans for 100 or 200 yen more. Then you'll be given a number and the food will be served at the table.

Set under the train tracks in a corner of a great food hall. Fantastic Japanese vegan monk's food. Set meals and curry sets are both good. Vegan desserts are fantastic. Lovely staff. A quiet oasis in the muddle of akhihabara. Easy to find- electric town exit. Walk straight ahead, passing gundam cafe and ak47 cafe on your right. The food hall is under the white arches on the right.

We arrived at Akihabara station and realized the vegetarian restaurant we wanted to go had been closed for good. So we searched online and found this restaurant. It was easy to find. We chose the plate in which you chose three sides plus soup and rice. I also chose a grape soda. Everything was tasty! I really liked everything, especially the soup and rice croquette. I wish we would have had more time to visit again, but sadly we didn't. I will definitely go again when I go to Japan and I will recommend it to everyone that goes to Japan, vegetarian or not.

We hunted this place down on our first night in Tokyo as I had researched it prior to our trip. With my wife being vegetarian we wanted a place we could eat without having to worry about what might be in the stock ,etc. Vegetarian food is not very easy to find in Japan (except maybe in Kyoto), it was great to have a place that anything could be ordered. We had a plate with a taste of a variety of food including miso, brown rice, curry, potato salad, croquette, tofu. Everything was really tasty with the flavours a great combination and gave a good selection of shojin food, even our toddler loved the food.
