Extremily tasty taste combinations in desserts. Chosen the best bakery in Finland couple of years ago. My favourite is the white chocolate-lime and raspberry-dark chocolate cakes.

If you're looking for a really good piece of cake, then Mbakery's your place! You can just eat the cake display with your eyes and believe me, you'll have hard time deciding which cake to go for. There's always a good selection of cakes with berries, fruits, chocolate or just about any sweet flavours you can think of and even coeliacs will have a few choices! Mbakery also offers salads, pies and sandwiches/baguettes, but who wants anything savory when there's a cake heaven available?! The Market Hall might not be the cosiest surrounding for an exquisite coffee break, since the seating area is shared with all the other restaurants and there are people walking through the hall all the time, but it's a nice place for people spotting while enjoying your cake.

Located in the heart of the city, the newly renovated market hall, this place is a small gem worth skipping the dessert where ever you are about to eat and finish the meal here. Tastes for every taste from delicate to powerful, comes in perfect size (not too tiny, not overly large). Can also be well recommended for those looking for gluten-free!

I've never particularly liked food court areas, because they're usually clinical and in the middle of shopping bustle, but the old market hall of Turku is a warm environment full of history. MBakery's café Piece of Cake is a modern addition but fits seamlessly into the place. It's not hard to understand why MBakery won the title of Finland's best bakery. The mini lemon meringue tart I tried was a perfect mixture of fluffy meringue and tangy lemon, and didn't taste at all artificial but very fresh (unlike the pastries of some unnamed Finnish chains). The selection of sweets is excellent (I can't wait to try them all!), but there are some savoury things to try as well as lunch. I liked the silky smooth cappuccino, but I'm not a coffee enthusiast, so I don't know how it compares with other cafés in Turku.
