I was really looking forward to eating at this restaurant. We'd been trekking all day on the GR131 from San Sebastian and the promise of some of the best food on La Gomera kept me going. It all started promisingly when we arrived, first impressions were it seemed nice and friendly...then it all started to go downhill! There is no menu to choose from, which isn't a problem, but it was quite 'difficult' to discover this (and one of our party does speak fluent Spanish). That day's menu consisted of vegetable soup, salad and golfio, which seems remarkably similar to the menu described by other reviewers. I think I can honestly say that the vegetable soup was the most unremarkable I've ever tasted, it was bland, watery, dull and well just awful. I'm not quite sure what to say about the salad it was so forgettable, unimaginative and inconsequential and as for the golfio - well! They may well use local or home grown vegetables but they certainly don't do anything interesting with them. I do get the feeling that the whole place has seen better days and is resting on a reputation which is going to run out very quickly if they don't get their act together. We had lots of really good food in La Gomera but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There is nothing special at all about its food; the staff varied from being aggressive if you dared question anything to uninterested to downright rude. One of the worst dinning experiences I've ever had!
