The restaurant is not located in the city centre and we had s little adventure to get to it because the taxi driver did know exactly where it was. The decoration of the restaurant is modern and the premises are big with different large rooms in and outside. We arrived there at 21:30 and most of the action was over so we got a lot of attention of the friendly staff. We had four dishes amongst them huge prawns and a fish of unknown specie. The prawn and the fish were nearly tasteless, no wonder it was sweet water stuff. The bill was not tasteless... I found it too expensive.

I have lunch at Ploen quite frequently because it is close to my office. The service is good and the food, in particular seafood, nice. There is a big variety of dishes, so it is excellent in case of group of people with different tastes. Outstanding desserts (do not forget to try the chocolate lava). In the end a positive experience.

We've been a group of 8 persons and made a reservation to be seated at the spot. The staff was very friendly, helpful and always around. The menue shows a wide variety of (mainly) thai dishes. As a bigger group we ordered a lot of different stuff which was served quite in a short time. It was nice to look at the open kitchen next to the entrance area and seeing our meals coming up. The quality was ok compared to the asked price - only my ostrich was a bit poor (less meat, lots of veggies). Overall I still dont know why this restaurant is that trendy - everything is just a little above average, no real highlight, nothing is overwelming - but a nice place to dine out.
